Senior Services North Fulton Main Office
770-993-1906
Senior Services North Fulton, Inc. was incorporated July 1991 as a nonprofit organization. Through the broad scope of the Atlanta Regional Commission (the Area Agency on Aging), Fulton County’s Office of Aging Services blended county and Title III Older American’s Act funding for aging services managed by independent community-based organizations. This effort was to create programs to enhance accessibility to aging services for all older residents of Fulton County.
The first official incorporator’s meeting was held on June 22, 1991. Dorothy C. Benson was the first Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Senior Services North Fulton, Inc.
Since then, SSNF has delivered over 650,000 nutritious Meals on Wheels to seniors at risk in the Northern Atlanta metropolitan area. Through continued agreement with Fulton County’s Office of Aging and the generous support of corporate, foundation, local organization and individual support, SSNF has expanded to offer in-home services, senior health & wellness initiatives, advocacy, resource & referral services, transportation and intermittent programs to meet the greatest needs of area seniors, while operating Neighborhood Senior Centers in Alpharetta, Roswell and Sandy Springs.
Most significantly, SSNF has grown a base of volunteers who not only deliver every SSNF meal to seniors in need in the community, but also give generously of their time, in support of SSNF and in turn, to the seniors that we serve. In 2007, volunteers donated more than 23,000 hours of their precious time to the agency.
With the rapidly expanding needs of aging adults, the thousands of seniors whose lives have been touched through the work of SSNF since 1991 are but a fraction of the older adults who will need our services in the coming decades. It is one of our foremost objectives at Senior Services North Fulton, Inc. to meet that need.
