Earth Day in Mountain Park

Earth Day in Mountain Park
12-4*, Saturday, April 22, 2017
“Bringing back the Festivals on the Green”

Exciting activities, exhibits, artists, vendors and live music (and some marketing--pass the word!) are expected to bring in visitors from our ‘Nextdoor’ neighbors (and beyond!) We’ll welcome them and show off our community participation and involvement. We’ll show our commitment to preserving the natural beauty of our little town.

And, we’ll share with them what we are learning about our resources. Residents who live here, “Where every day is Earth Day,” can celebrate Worldwide Earth Day close to home. So, come on down, join the fun, shop and even volunteer to help. In the spirit of the day, and to cut down on traffic, we encourage able locals to walk down to the Green.

In keeping with this year’s worldwide theme, “Environmental Literacy,” we are offering a story time and children’s writing work shop (third through fifth graders, maximum 20) with local well-known children’s authors. Sign up online

*Early Morning Bird Walk…only if you register by noon on Friday, April 21!
Meet at the Community Building at 7:30 am with binoculars and sturdy shoes.

And, what would Earth Day be without Clean-Up activities? Pick up bags and gloves
at the Civic Building as early as 8 am* (prizes for most litter collected!)

Come back for a BYO picnic on the green at noon when festival booths will open and the live music begins! Thanks to Mountain Park’s own DJ Dale Hicks for providing professional sound system.

Space is still available for artisans and vendors of green products and services—and stage time for musicians, poets, and magicians! To sign up for a free display space or a time to perform, contact Sarah at 770-688-5579, Hope at 404-697-2129, or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. us.

Admission and Activities are free, but bring some ‘green’ for some cool shopping! And perhaps a raffle and some food! Just a sampling:
