NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The City of Mountain Park has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 7.9% percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be at the Community Building, 100 Lakeshore Drive, Mountain Park, GA 30075 on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m. Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Community Building, 100 Lakeshore Drive, Mountain Park, GA 30075 on Wednesday September 8, 2021 at 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. and a Special Called Meeting at 7:00 p.m. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 9.55 mills, an increase of .69 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be now more than 8.86 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $52.44 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $55.20.
